A little Drop... And yet, when I thought that I had concealed, camouflaged, or even gotten away with treading the waters lightly, not wanting to come across too harsh, an unexpected someone, the writer of “Like The Dew” journal comes along and picks my mental vacillation, or is it more like my slip into the past where I ask permission to express the truth as I see it, my environment as it has shown me it is, knowing that there is nothing sustainable in such hesitation, realizing that some people close enough to touch me desire the wrong path, and with a chastising slice to my consciousness he warns to write with such indecision is apathy. But he massages the truth with we must balance cynicism and wonder.   On another day, I might be inclined to ignore the obvious but rather than be a coward I recognize that he peeped the hole in my card. From a woman’s perspective: Just looking through…

I was reading a book a while back and it had several layers of insights about race, love and other sorts of mental tangibles. But this one point seemed so visceral; sometimes it takes a man (or woman) outside your immediate circle of associations to recognize the value of who you are as a person or woman. A penny...

A penny for my thoughts Today, surprisingly, while viewing a blog that I follow, I saw the caption Just Ask. I read on and was surprised by the flood of thoughts the simple phrase evoked. So I examined the question. "Just ask". I think I realized what I really wanted, and not afraid to ask for, is something that I wondered if the people I was asking had the strength and character to give. It was as simple as those two words. I was asking for honesty, truth, and goodness of people around me to value it as much as I did. So I take a deep breath, drop my coin, pray for it, and hope that the third time around is better than the first.

Thought For The Day

When you raise children in a family it is extremely important to help them cultivate their own self-identity and maintain a sense of individuality within that family structure. ~ T.G Thoughts on yesterday's conversation and parenting and the need to make sure each child has a sense of self as it only helps them as they mature. This alleviates children trying to jockey for their place if you will rather than being sure of whom they are and the role that they play in the family. It also helps to builds confidence and reassure children that the uniqueness that they offer is acknowledged and embraced.
