A little Drop...

And yet, when I thought that I had concealed, camouflaged, or even gotten away with treading the waters lightly, not wanting to come across too harsh, an unexpected someone, the writer of “Like The Dew” journal comes along and picks my mental vacillation, or is it more like my slip into the past where I ask permission to express the truth as I see it, my environment as it has shown me it is, knowing that there is nothing sustainable in such hesitation, realizing that some people close enough to touch me desire the wrong path, and with a chastising slice to my consciousness he warns to write with such indecision is apathy. But he massages the truth with we must balance cynicism and wonder.  On another day, I might be inclined to ignore the obvious but rather than be a coward I recognize that he peeped the hole in my card. But I’m comforted that he recognizes and even eases my apprehension with this quote:

It’s back-breaking work,” he says, “to keep alive one’s feeling of delight when one has no doubt about the world’s constant acts of ugliness, the greed of small men, and the brutality of time’s unbroken progression.”

It is in times like these that you remember to continue to put one foot in front of the other and appreciate the deepest truth when it has been shared.

A Nice Breeze and a Bit of Perspective

As I stated yesterday I went for a walk and enjoyable it was. It was windy and I loved it. 70 degrees and a breeze didn't make for a bad time outdoors at all. Needless to say it brought yesterday's earlier agitation (read totally perturbed) to a simmer and provided an interesting perspective. I relished the blowing air and thought about my time in college. It was great and I got through it with out too much drama or incident (with the exception of a few memorables, which is for another day another post). That being said, I didn't drink, smoke or experiment with drugs. I don't say that as some type of badge of honor because that's not the case at all. But it was apparent, that somewhere along the way I truly believed what my grandparents told me growing up about character, honor, and integrity. However, the older I get I've grown wary or maybe even cynical at what maybe appears to be watered-down standards we've immersed ourselves in society. Notice I say ...

Beautiful

Isn’t it funny how the innocent things make for lasting memories? That’s when I’m thankful that a little reflection is good on days like today. Not feeling the best and then you remember something that is altogether sweet. Like how sometimes you take, some times you give, but oh how special it is when together we create something hilariously indescribable…sometimes the unexpected happens and you remember just how special it was. And out of it comes something wonderfully funny, unbelievable and yes beautiful. And just how beautiful it is depends on you. So maybe today isn’t that day for you. But when that day or should I say night comes, I don’t know about you, but I plan on making it beautiful. Don’t know what I mean, listen to the link below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKbsjGol-TY Quote of the Day Often times we forget that part of being human is being spiritually grounded, finding your purpose, developing who you are, lending yourself to good works and yes loving and being in...

Thought For The Day

Boldness, is not abrasive, it’s fearless but not abrasive. It’s not about being scared or the absence of concern it’s about having the inner strength to make secure. Men wonder how a woman knows that something is wrong, extremely off- kilter. It’s when you don’t reach out your hand. It’s not about romance it’s about what you know you supply. When you don’t express the words to make it right, the right you know God expects of you. It sends a startling message that either your inner core is troubled or something is terribly wrong. This is not the case for everyone. It’s for those who want to impact, press in and touch the spirit of others. It’s for those bold souls who profess an uncommon love. There’s nothing sadder than the tears of a clown but there’s nothing more tragic than great strength without inner beauty. When you forget to make it right that becomes the building block or foundation of your legacy. So men you want to give a lasting gift this season… give her the gift of alway...
